Why we made a disc.
We use our phones for everything, and they take a lot of our attention. Every tool meant to limit that runs on the same phone, where it can be switched off in a few taps. Norma started there.
Why app blockers don't hold.
Screen Time, app timers, grayscale, focus modes: they all run on the phone you're trying to put down. The off switch is one tap away, at the moment you least want to resist it. So the limits get ignored and the apps get reinstalled.
So we made it physical.
Norma is a single piece of stainless steel. You decide which apps it blocks, you scan it, and they disappear until you scan again. To unblock, the disc has to be there and you have to reach for it. That small effort is what makes the block hold, where a setting on the phone would give way.

Ending a session takes a scan. That is enough to make you pause, and it doesn't get in the way of anything else.
